Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Radiology Technologist, you will provide health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. You will perform radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. You will exercise professional judgment in performances of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. You will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
You will apply knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age‑specific needs.
- You will perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic and portable radiographs.
- You will practice safe radiation protection following hospital guidelines.
- You will assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
- You will prepare patients for procedures using sterile technique.
- You will prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams.
- You will select contrast media according to radiologist preference.
- You will assess patient’s condition prior and during all radiologic procedures.
- You will corroborate patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by licensed practitioner.
- You will ensure that procedure rooms are stocked and notify Senior Tech when supplies need to be ordered.
- You will participate in formal training programs and in‑services.
- You will transport patients as needed.
- You will submit patient charges at completion of procedures.
- One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist - preferred.
