Regional Assessment Specialist
Impact Lives. Build Relationships. Help Children and Families. Exceed Expectations. Action Behavior Centers is expanding to bring exceptional care to underserved communities, and we're looking for a passionate Regional Assessment Specialist to lead the charge in shaping the future of ABA therapy at Action! This is an opportunity to shape a clinic's success and make a lasting impact on families by expanding access to life-changing services.
Action Behavior Centers is seeking qualified candidates with a clinical license to assist with our assessment service for children suspected of having autism. The role involves administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2), and summarizing results. Results are reviewed by physicians and clinicians to help guide diagnostic determination and recommendations. This role is designed to help children and their families, as well as physicians, receive more information to make a determination on how to use our evaluation as a tool to best serve the children in their futures.
Master's degree required for this position.
What you will be doing as a Regional Assessment Specialist:
- Complete initial training on the ADOS-2
- Administer and score the ADOS-2 with a high level of reliability
- Complete written summaries of ADOS-2 results to be reviewed by referring clinicians and physicians
- Seek consultation for cases where validity might be impacted
- Participate in ongoing reliability checks to ensure maintenance of reliable administration and scoring
- Testing will be done in 1-3 clinics within the region, with a set schedule of 1 location per day
- Must have flexibility to travel during training
- Proficiency with Mac Book and Google Workspace or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to their use.
What you will bring: This is an ideal role for a candidate with an interest in assessment and diagnosis of autism and other developmental disorders. The opportunity provides in-depth exposure to understanding autism through working with a diverse population of children with developmental concerns, as well as becoming an expert on the ADOS-2, considered one of the gold-standard tools. The position is a good fit for someone who enjoys a predictable schedule and routine of a certain number of assessments per day.
Previous training or experience with the ADOS-2 is a bonus, but not required. Training will be provided with ongoing support from the regional licensed psychologist and broader assessment team.
