Role OverviewAs the Systems Administrator I, you will be the first point of contact for client-initiated tickets, focusing on timely resolution within service level objectives, preventing escalations, and ensuring quality service. You will work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, switching between tasks as needed.
How You’ll Make An ImpactDay‑to‑day support desk duties, ticket ownership, documentation updates, root‑cause analysis, and proactive technical leadership will be your core responsibilities.
Location & Work Expectations- Hybrid: approximately 50% remote / 50% onsite in Austin, TX client offices (requirement fluctuates by demand).
- Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm CST.
- On‑call rotation: one week approximately every seven weeks.
- Equipment provided; home internet minimum 20 Mbps upload and download.
- Accept overflow of incoming client calls; provide service or route as needed.
- Follow processes for moving client service requests within and out of the department.
- Identify opportunities and update infrastructure documentation.
- Own service requests and conduct root‑cause analysis for recurring problems.
- Recognize system requirement lapses based on security/compliance policy and industry trends.
- Perform software upgrades and troubleshoot client issues.
- Adhere to industry best practices regarding security.
- Provide technical leadership internally and externally.
- Use client reports to find evidence and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Work within time constraints for resolving client requests.
- 2‑3 years help desk experience.
- Technical experience supporting, administering, and troubleshooting Microsoft Desktop and Server OS and applications.
- Familiarity with network hardware (firewalls, managed switches, WAPs).
- Knowledge of MS Exchange, Office 365, and related email technology.
- Skill with Hyper‑V console for storage and VM availability issues.
- Ability to provide escalation support and identify imminent failures.
- Generate vendor access accounts following security best practices.
- Create limited domain user accounts and delegate local server administration.
- Provide secure remote access methods.
- Optimize and filter group policies by item level and security groups.
- Audit and implement “need to know” permission/access control.
- Share drive permissions and effectively use security groups.
- Intermediate knowledge of at least one cloud platform and its console.
- Identify misconfigured services or applications and escape as needed.
- Review, refine, and create SOPs.
- User creation and departures.
- Software deployments and VOIP phone support.
- Apple Mac OS X support.
- Professional written and oral English communication.
- Business correspondence and process procedure documentation.
- Effective presentation of information and responsiveness to managers, clients, and the public.

- Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
