Aboutthe Role
Round Rock ISD is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to lead and manage the daily operations, personnel, and financial activities of the Maintenance and Energy Management Departments. This leadership role oversees essential services, including electrical, HVAC, carpentry, hardware, plumbing, grounds, and general maintenance functions. As Director, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming facilities that enhance the learning experience and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Operations: Oversee the maintenance and energy management teams, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Budget & Compliance: Develop and monitor budgets while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Facilities Oversight: Manage facility conditions, implement maintenance schedules, and support long-term planning efforts.
- Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and evaluate staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
- Campus
Collaboration:
Conduct campus walkthroughs and coordinate with district leaders to address facility needs. - Community Relations: Represent the department in district and community engagements.
- Process Improvement: Refine procedures and develop programs to continuously improve maintenance services and customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management, facilities, or a related operational leadership role.
- Proven track record in budget management, staff supervision, and maintenance or operations oversight.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and codes related to facilities and safety standards. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a collaborative management style.
