We are seeking a Registered Nurse Med Surge Temp to join St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. This role offers an opportunity to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a supportive environment that values professional growth.
Responsibilities- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. Administer prescribed medications and monitor the patient for therapeutic response, taking appropriate action if required.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment start date.
- BASIC Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification within 6 months of employment start date.
- Seasonal program requirements: minimum 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period, four weekend shifts each four‑week schedule period, two holiday shifts during the 32‑week period, availability to float to other facilities, and temporary status with no guaranteed hours or benefits; first call‑off required.
- Must hold a Texas Compact License if applicable.
- Eligible for the Seasonal program only if not a current full‑time, part‑time, or PRN employee of the hospital.
- Must have a current Texas Nursing License; other state compact license holders are accepted.
