The Quality Control Technician conducts routine and specialized quality control testing on textiles, products, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy through detailed data collection and analysis. They participate in field testing to assess real‑world performance, identify and report quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities and Duties- Perform routine and non‑routine quality control tests on textiles, products, and finished goods. Collect, record, and analyze quality and performance data; maintain detailed records and documentation.
- Participate in field testing of textiles and components, across a range of conditions (e.g., temperature) and seasons to simulate real‑world usage.
- Identify and report quality deviations, inconsistencies, or failures and, as requested, work with other departments to address root causes.
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Follow established protocols and quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend adjustments to processes and materials where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Ametrine goals and objectives.
- Execute with precision and maintain a sharp eye for detail throughout every stage of a project. Ability to notice small differences or inconsistencies and a thoroughness in following procedures and recording data.
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel and SharePoint/File Management.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying environmental conditions.
- Reliable and dependable. Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing schedules and priorities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Take the initiative and have a self‑starter mindset, prioritizing tasks and driving projects forward with minimal oversight.
- Approach challenges with curiosity, adaptability, and a strong sense of self‑motivation.
- Step up and contribute as needed, maintaining a collaborative mindset without ego or rigid role boundaries.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Driver’s License.
- May require domestic travel.
- General work hours – 2nd Shift (1:30pm‑12:00am), Monday through Thursday; flexibility to work evening and night hours and weekends when required; sometimes with short notice.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around the office and production environment for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of materials, tools, or equipment that may exceed 25 lbs.
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks (e.g., using a computer, handling small parts, assembling prototypes).
- Visual acuity to read technical documents and to inspect prototypes or components.
- Frequent exposure to noise, machinery, and manufacturing tools.
- Will require working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments.
- The work environment is generally fast‑paced, and the employee may be required to shift between team collaboration, independent work, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Depending on the location and project needs, the employee may be required to wear PPE such as safety goggles, gloves, or hearing protection.
