Pastry Sous ChefKalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a
Pastry Sous Chef . In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Pastry team in the success of all bake shop operations, assuring the proper preparation of all baked items for the Resort's restaurants, food, and beverage outlets, with a focus on conventions day-to-day pastry production and operations.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love
—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll act as second-in-command, ensuring smooth operations and consistent standards when the Executive Pastry Chef is away.
Weekends, evenings, and holiday availability area must.
Salary range $65,000-$85,000
Key Responsibilities- Works with the pastry team to produce quality pastries and service.
- Use proper procedures and techniques for the creation of attractive, professional pastry items.
- Inspect all bakery items upon completion to ensure they have been prepared correctly and attractively.
- Collaborate effectively with pastry team to foster a positive environment.
- Werequirea background ofat least 2-3 yearsof progressive pastry experience with 1-2 yearsofbakeshopmanagementexperience,preferably in alarge volume environment such as a multi-unithotelorresort.
- Basic knowledge of P&L, food cost/inventory management, recipe costing, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Prior experience across multiple pastry mediums; bread making, sugar artistry, cake design, etc.
- Prior
BEO experience is preferred. - Passion for pastry operations.
- Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts Degree
- Prior experience witha
Bake shop/pastry production is helpful. - Bilingual in English and Spanish.
