Overview
Retail Store Management Trainee to join our team. Compensation ranges from $18.50 to $26.48 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast-tracking into a Store Management position. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $5.92 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations and promoting a positive/productive environment. You will partner with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations/satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
You will analyze store financial statements, participate in asset protection, promote the business, and target new customer acquisitions. Employees will work with a variety of jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.
This position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities of a Store Management Trainee

- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, manage cash drawers, merchandise, and protect assets according to procedures.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control and loan documentation.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
- Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge.
- The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting, in compliance with laws.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
