Maintenance Technician

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician (FT) for the Courtyard Austin Round Rock, TX.

$16.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Under general supervision, assists in maintenance, repair, refurbishment, renovation, remodeling, and general upkeep to keep the facility functional and attractive to prospective customers.

• Completes assigned work orders for general repair within assigned time frame to achieve operational efficiency of the hotel and its equipment.
• Performs systematic checks and inspections to aid in the upkeep of the hotel and assists in the proactive maintenance program to prevent malfunctions, breakdowns, and depreciation.
• Immediately and courteously responds to guests’ needs to repair and/or resolve room maintenance requests and problems as they arise.
• Maintains tools, work spaces, and equipment in safe, secure, and good condition to reduce accidents and prolong their use.
• Adjusts and repairs electronic problems on hotel equipment, including televisions.
• Assists department in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and employees.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner at all times.
• All other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
• Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

• Contacts electrical, plumbing, and elevator contractors for repair/maintenance of hotel equipment.
• Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance.
• Assists other departments as directed.

• Basic working knowledge in general plumbing, refrigeration, air conditioning, electrical systems, boilers, bathroom fixtures, tiling, painting, prep to finish, basic carpentry, and groundskeeping.
• Vision to read written communications, LED read‑outs, meters, and computer screens.
• Dexterity to pull levers, rotate knobs, and use small parts with basic hand and power tools.
• Upper body strength to lift 75 lbs. during an 8‑hour shift.
• Leg strength and ability to crawl into and through small spaces, climb ladders, and carry loads of 75 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and high organization.
• Effective and courteous communication with employees, guests, and contractors in writing, by telephone, and in person.

High school education or equivalent preferred.

Minimum of 6 months successful experience in a similar position or related field.

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour.
