Overview
Join to apply for the Fire Alarm Helper-Austin role at Firetron, Inc.. This entry level position is a trainee role learning the mechanics of fire alarm systems. The position will assist with routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision. It will also support the diagnosis and evaluation of systems that require servicing and troubleshoot issues during inspections under direct supervision.
This position may install and test fire alarm systems under the close guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician. The employee receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day tasks from a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Assist with routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems under direct supervision.
- Support the diagnosis and evaluation of systems that require servicing and troubleshoot issues during inspections under direct supervision.
- May install and test fire alarm systems under the close guidance of a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Provide detailed notes on work orders daily.
- Be available to support technicians.
- Read a set of Fire Alarm prints and install accordingly.
- Maintain excellent communication and follow safety procedures during all tasks.
- Hand tool, power tool and multi-meter knowledge is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform work in challenging locations and positions (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings).
- After-hours overtime and weekend work as needed based on customer demands.
- Valid Driver’s license.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
