YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent of Technical Services, you will work closely with other metallurgists and technicians as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on technical support and project development. The group’s work is divided into three main categories:

  • Project development, such as studies of satellite zones of an operation, assessments of the company’s exploration portfolio potential (at various levels, including economic analyses, PEA and PFS), as well as evaluations of external mining prospects for potential acquisition;
  • Operational support;
  • Research & Development, including the company’s innovation initiatives in collaboration with groups such as IRME, COREM, and MISA.

Using your technical knowledge and experience, you will propose value-added solutions to project development in order to optimize their economic value. You will participate in the development of new technologies in collaboration with research institutes and act as a facilitator for their implementation at sites that may benefit from them. Your contribution to operational support will also allow you to build business relationships and mentor metallurgists from various divisions.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Representing the metallurgy team as a process leader in multidisciplinary projects by attending team meetings, coordinating project activities, and supervising colleagues or contractors to ensure task completion within deadlines and in compliance with quality and safety standards;
  • Providing mentorship to colleagues across the company on specific topics;
  • Sponsoring and supporting research, development, and innovation activities in partnership with organizations such as Corem, MISA, and IRME;
  • Preparing and leading team meetings;
  • Selecting, planning, and coordinating metallurgical tests to be carried out at our Support and Development Center (CSD) facilities or in external laboratories;
  • Analyzing test results and preparing reports to define design criteria and support the selection of processes and equipment;
  • Producing material balances, metal recovery models, and projections of unit reagent consumption;
  • Participating in project risk analyses;
  • Conducting comparative economic “trade‑off” studies, including CAPEX and OPEX;
  • Preparing engineering documents such as schedules, budgets, project charters, requests for proposals, and performing monthly follow-ups;
  • Ensuring proper management of documentation related to various projects using SharePoint sites and the Technical Services server;
  • Assisting in mentoring junior metallurgists and/or interns;
  • Supporting the metallurgy team based on various requests.
