Water Treatment Operator

Join our Operations team as an Industrial Water Treatment Plant Operator and embark on a rewarding career dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting our resource industry. Remote fly‑in/fly‑out positions will be based in western Canada, offering a 2‑weeks‑on, 2‑weeks‑off shift schedule.

• Secure and efficient operation of an industrial water treatment plant; collaborate with a small team under supervision.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment equipment including pumps, filtration systems, and chemical feed systems.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime.
• Conduct regular laboratory tests on water samples and adjust treatment processes to meet compliance standards.
• Record and maintain accurate logs of treatment processes, test results, and maintenance activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on treatment equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations during all operational activities.
• Perform landscaping and housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and organized facility.

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport and ability to travel in Canada and the United States.
• Understanding of heat management and chemical applications; preference for candidates with industrial plant or industrial wastewater treatment experience in mining or thermal oil operations.
• EOCP certifications preferred; candidates with EOCP level 1 or higher in Water Distribution, Water Treatment, Wastewater Collection, Wastewater Treatment, small water system, or small wastewater system.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience with water/wastewater treatment systems.
• Valid class5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Training courses in water treatment, chemistry, pollution control or related subjects an asset.
• Relevant trade experience such as plumbing, electrical, pipefitter/steamfitter, mechanical trades an asset.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Certificates in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, TDG are an asset.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site in a fly‑in/fly‑out arrangement with rotations to different locations.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in remote settings.

• Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Must be able to lift up to 77 pounds (35 kilos) daily continuously.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to work at heights and in diverse weather conditions.
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence and capability to operate a light duty truck.
• Expect varying working conditions in a remote field environment.
• Must be able to pass drug and alcohol and field readiness tests required by clients or Integrated Sustainability.
