Position: Eeyou Istchee Community Action Specialist
Join the effort to improve community welfare in Eeyou Istchee as a Community Action Specialist. Utilize your expertise in social issues and cultural knowledge to drive impactful programs.

You will work towards identifying the needs of the local population and implementing appropriate community action initiatives. Candidates should have a diploma in social work techniques or equivalent and experience working in a multidisciplinary environment. Effective communication and crisis management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess community needs for program development

• Conduct interviews and establish helping relationships

• Collaborate with NNADAP and medical social service teams

• Educate on mental health and social dynamics

• Offer counselling services in crisis situations

Requirements:

• Diploma in social or community work or similar

• One year of related experience is an asset

• Bilingual in Cree and English;
French is a plus

• Knowledge of Eeyou culture and social issues

• Strong initiative and partnership skills
