The Rowlett Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer.

- Lateral pay up to step 3 ($94,655.63) will be considered for those with qualifying experience.
Under supervision, performs a variety of duties to an assigned area of responsibility such as identifying and apprehending criminal violators; controls and maintains public order and safety; performs related duties as required. Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification required at the time of application. See requirements here:

- The physical assessment will consist of 18 push-ups, 25 sit-ups, and a 1.5-mile run in 16 minutes or less, as well as a 300-meter run in 77 seconds or less.
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental designee within two working days of receipt.
Vision 20/20, correctable to 20/20. Must pass a background investigation, psychological exam (if required under TCOLE standards), oral interview by Interviewing Board, physical exam, and physical assessment. Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends.
