All About Food & Beverage

The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process, and efficiency, leading food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store.

Skills

& Experience

• Guest service fundamentals and building a guest‑first culture.
• Knowledge of product turnover, seasonal availability, and quality control.
• Understanding of food safety standards, inventory trends, and pricing strategies.
• Merchandising, rotation, cleaning, signing, and reserve product organization.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
• Uphold Food & Beverage Standards and execute processes such as deliveries, replenishment, straightening, in‑stock routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, and signing.
• Follow all food safety requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Coordinate with vendors for merchandise displays and back‑room organization.
• Identify and process damaged, recalled or expired items according to Target policies.
• Assist guests and other team members, providing knowledge of store‑wide products and services.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently, and comply with safety policies.
• Support back‑up cashier, order pickup, and drive‑up duties while maintaining compliance.
• Greet and thank guests, creating a welcoming experience.
• Perform all other duties as necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (Bakery only).
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude.
• Proficiency with handheld scanners and frequency devices.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly.
• Attention to detail and follow multi‑step processes.
• Remain focused, composed, and accomplish multiple tasks within time frames.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

• Accurately handle cash register operations.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Lift, scan, handle, and move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
• Reliable attendance on a flexible work schedule.
• Work in temperatures ranging from 34°F to
  -10°F.
• Handle allergens and varying environmental conditions.
• Remain mobile throughout the shift.
