Person County Government is seeking an energetic and dedicated Social Work Program Manager to lead and support critical service programs within our Adult Services Unit, Self-Sufficiency Unit, and Clerical Unit
. These units include Service Intake, Child Care Subsidy, Work First Employment Services, Energy Programs, Crisis, Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation, and Work First Family Assistance Programs
. This leadership role is ideal for a strategic and compassionate professional with a strong background in human services and program supervision.
The person in this position is responsible for working directly with the supervisors of the units. This involves collaborating with each supervisor to meet the needs of the services staff, including reviewing and staffing cases, assessing and developing training, consulting with staff from various State divisions, advocating for clients and units in the community, directing staff selection, addressing complaints and grievances, and assisting supervisors with disciplinary processes.

The starting salary will be determined based on the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is an exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.

Required Minimum Training
- Master's degree in social work with three years of social work or counseling experience, including two in supervision;
- Bachelor's degree in social work with four years of experience, including two in supervision;
- Master's in a counseling field with four years of experience, including two in supervision;
- Four-year degree in human services or related field with at least 15 semester hours in social work or counseling and five years of experience, including two in supervision;
- Graduation from a four-year college with six years of experience in related human services fields, including two in supervision;
- Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional Training/Experience
- Knowledge of casework supervision and training methods.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic issues and community resources.
- Knowledge of laws and policies governing social work programs.
- Skill in supervising and training staff.
- Ability to communicate clearly and plan effectively.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
