Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT.

What You’ll Get To Do

Join the Production Operations MFG Engineering team for Sentinel and contribute engineering solutions to deploy and deliver a state‑of‑the‑art weapon system to our customer. This role requires a highly motivated self‑starter with knowledge of fabrication, assembly, system integration, deployment, and testing of engineered products. Your responsibilities include working with suppliers to develop a compliant Manufacturing Plan, conducting Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA) events, creating Bill of Materials, developing work and installation instructions, supporting system design, and tool design.

  • Team liaison and SME for engineering support during field activities
Job Responsibilities
  • Represent the organization as a technical contact, interact with senior personnel on technical matters, facilitate inter‑team coordination, and reinforce leadership’s vision and goals
  • Develop processes by studying requirements; research, design, modify, and test production/deployment methods and equipment
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure practical manufacturing and fabrication solutions
  • Coordinate with the integration team(s) on day‑to‑day activities; resolve complex process issues
  • Work with suppliers to develop manufacturing planning for successful preparation and execution of MRAs
  • Research and evaluate commercially available tools and equipment to support deployment activities

    Investigate root cause of discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency li>
  • Develop and maintain detailed work and install instructions for assigned products/processes
  • Educate/train operators on new and existing processes
  • Establish and maintain a program project plan and schedule aligned with the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Provide on‑site engineering support during field installations
  • Provide advanced technological ideas and SME to resolve technical questions and ensure compliance to the EMD Statement of Work (SOW) requirements
  • Implement Lean practices to continually identify opportunities for improvement

Salary range: $89,400 – $134,200 (USD). The range is a guideline; base salary offers consider scope and responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and for eligible positions Long‑Term Incentives.
