About the Role
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer – Modeling Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) located in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel program. Relocation assistance may be offered.
Key Responsibilities- Support a diverse team of Engineers on a variety of projects to advance Sentinel ICBM weapon system accuracy.
- Fill gaps on projects such as physics‑based predictive modeling, maturity of accuracy error models, post‑flight estimation, parameter estimation using ground and flight data, V&V of error models, preparation of accuracy reports, and presentations to leadership and customers.
- Interface with external partners to ensure analysis data required for CDRLs is received and delivered on time for the Sentinel Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Contribute to development and traceability of MS&A tool requirements.
- Assist in EVM reporting against the Sentinel IMS.
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience; alternatively 10 years with a Master’s or 8 years with a PhD.
- US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at the time of application and an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable time frame.
- Must support program tasks in a secure lab environment at least 90% of total work time.
- Experience with physics‑based mathematical modeling and simulation.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, C++/C#, SQL, MATLAB, R or similar) – 3 years of experience.
- Strong rapport‑building and external partner interfacing skills.
- Proactive self‑starter who identifies gaps and proposes solutions.
- Experience with complex requirement development and traceability.
- Experience with EVM and IMS reporting.
- Experience with Northrop Grumman change request (CR) and engineering review board (ERB) processes.
- Experience with agile processes and Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Standard 9/80 schedule: nine‑hour days Monday–Thursday with every other Friday off.
Salary range: $152,900 – $229,300, subject to factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives may also apply.
