The selected candidate will become a Principal / Sr. Principal Civil/Structural Design Engineer on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil/Structural elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, or Test Facilities. This role will be located in Roy, UT. Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
* Responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil/structural systems design for the Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.

* Subject matter expert supporting the design of high complexity civil/structural systems, including structural steel design drawings, concrete forming, steel structures, and reinforcing design drawings.

* Review structural design/selection/engineering for modularized fabrication.

* Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.

* Participate in project design/model reviews.

* Review subcontractors design product quality/accuracy by reviewing civil/structural designs and validating that current standards are applied and integrated into the design solution.

* Support the delivery of Civil/Structural facility design Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts.

* Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues

* Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.

* Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

* Developing and maturing Civil/Structural facility designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations. As a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:

* Employee Discounts This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

* Principal Mechanical Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience

* Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience Both Level

Qualifications:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen and with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

* Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance

* Experience in one or more of the following:
Civil/Structural, Mechanical, electrical design on MILCON or major infrastructure/building projects.

* Knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and construction specifications.

* Knowledge of one or more of the following:
American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC) Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and MIL-STD codes and standards.

* Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.

* Experience with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.

* Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter

* Structural Engineering (SE) License with any state.
