Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality to join the Supplier Mission Assurance team. This position will be located inThis role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What Youll Get To Do:
This position will require major supplier surveillance and is an onsite position. In this position, the employee will be responsible for the quality of the products provided by the supplier. Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management, develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process.
Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs.

The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Engineer Supplier Quality:
Bachelors degree in STEM related field and 5 or more years of relevant experience OR Masters degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience
Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality:
Bachelors degree in STEM related field and 8 or more years of relevant experience OR Masters degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience
Experience developing, planning, and/or implementing quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items.
Experience interfacing effectively with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management.
Experience with AS9100/ISO
9001 requirements
Must be able to travel up to 25-50 of the time
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing/engineering experience
