The selected candidate will become a Principal / Sr. Principal Civil/Structural Design Engineer on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil/Structural elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, or Test Facilities. This role will be located in Roy, UT.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil/structural systems design for the Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.
  • Subject matter expert supporting the design of high complexity civil/structural systems, including structural steel design drawings, concrete forming, steel structures, and reinforcing design drawings.
  • Review structural design/selection/engineering for modularized fabrication.
  • Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
  • Participate in project design/model reviews.
  • Review subcontractors design product quality/accuracy and validate that current standards are applied and integrated into the design solution.
  • Support the delivery of Civil/Structural facility design Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts.
  • Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.
  • Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.
  • Developing and maturing Civil/Structural facility designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 8 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience.
Both Level Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    Civil/Structural, Mechanical, electrical design on MILCON or major infrastructure/building projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and construction specifications.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following:
    American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Building Code (IBC), Unified Facilities Criteria…
