Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Design Engineer/Design Engineer on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, or Test Facilities. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.
Specific Duties- Coordinating Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical systems design reviews for the Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.
- Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
- Participate in project design/model reviews.
- Review subcontractors design product quality/accuracy by reviewing civil/structural, mechanical and electrical designs to validate that current standards are applied and integrated into the design solution.
- Support the delivery of facility design Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts.
- Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.
- Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders.
- Associate Design Engineer (level
1):
Bachelor's degree in Design Engineering or HSDG with 4 years of relevant experience. - Design Engineer (level
2):
Bachelor's degree with 2 years’ experience; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s degree, 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree. - Must be a U.S. Citizen and with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance as a condition of continued employment.
- Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Revit, Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed in the last 5 years.
Primary Level Salary Range: $59,900.00 - $89,900.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $ The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
