Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for an experienced Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for the Payload Re-entry System (PRS) for the Sentinel Program, located at the Strategic Deterrence Division (SDS) headquarters in Roy, UT.As a PRS Systems Engineer the primary job responsibilities are the following:

Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures.

Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems.

Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications

Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis.

Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function.

Decompose parent level requirements into lower-level requirements as appropriate, based upon service life, use case, and CONOPS.“Own” the environments for equipment; add derived environmental figures/tables when analyses are performed to the appropriate Environmental Criteria Document Review internal and external vendor performance specifications and verification methodology

Support internal and external (vendor) Design Reviews Supporting System Test engineers develop their test procedures to ensure correct requirements interpretation and verification

Review COTS to ensure meeting environmental requirements; identify deficiencies and recommend delta qual testing to verify compliance

Participating in Test Plan, Procedure, and Report peer reviews

Witness testing as the Cognizant Environments Engineer Review Workmanship or Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) procedures; approve vibration and thermal cycle surveys

Support MRB/FRB as predicated during testing and screening events

Develop and review requirements, verification methods, descriptions, plans, and architecture
