Join us as a Department Manager in Northrop Grumman’s Systems Engineering Division, leading teams focused on Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) and Systems Safety within the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. The role is based in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, AL, with relocation assistance available.
What You’ll DoAs the Department Manager for MS&A, you will manage career and personnel development, enable program success through people, processes, tools and training, and provide program and business support to ensure overall success. Your leadership will involve regular interaction with equivalent‑level managers and programs to maintain and exceed health and performance standards.
As the Department Manager for Systems Safety, you will oversee planning, risk, project performance, schedule, technical quality and operational issue resolution, assisting engineers and program staff to develop and retain talent. You will lead engineers across the System Safety teams.
Essential Functions- Excellent communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
- Ownership of people, processes and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.
- Accountability for recruiting, staffing and retaining talent.
- Supporting proposal work, technical reviews, program stand‑up, audits, and special assignments as needed.
- Leading improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction and retention of top talent.
- Mentoring, developing and training section managers and the broader employee base.
- Rapidly assessing and providing guidance to assigned projects.
- Reviewing and analyzing engineering change data and coordinating changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 8 years of related experience
