Grocery Clerk Job Status Full Time/Part Time Department Grocery Location Kent ’s Market Reports ToGrocery Manager Grocery Clerks uphold a clean and well-stocked store for customers. They work closely with other Grocery Clerks and employees to complete daily tasks. Their job includes shelving food items, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning up spills and garbage to ensure customer safety, and showing customers where to find specific brands or food items.

They may also receive training to work the cash register or help with bagging groceries and retrieving carts from the parking lot.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain proper methods of product handling, case cutting, price marking, rotation and display of merchandise.

Achieve and maintain established cases per man-hour.

Maintain a well-stocked store through an effective control of inventory in line with established guidelines.

Follow through and achieve all company policies, programs and directives that apply to stocking operations.

Ensure that all price changes are completed on time, legible, accurate, and meet company policies.

Provide frequent guest service through friendly behavior and extensive product knowledge.

Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.

Supports the team by taking on additional tasks or responsibilities as requested.

weekend shifts are required (holidays as applicable)
Physical/Sensory Demands Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries.

Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 40 pounds from location to location.
