Accounts Administrator

Transaction Recruitment are supporting a well-established professional services business based in Leamington, in their search for an Accounts Administrator to join them on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Accounts, you'll help keep the department running smoothly, handling the daily flow of money in and out of the business with accuracy and care.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines banking, ledger work and reconciliations with regular contact with colleagues, clients and external parties. You'll be trusted with confidential information and client funds, so a careful, compliance-minded approach is essential. This position is fully office based.

Key Responsibilities:

* Checking bank receipts daily, logging them, and updating systems when funds are received and posted

* Preparing paying-in books and processing cheque, CHAPS and BACS payments, including checking and authorising payments entered by colleagues

* Confirming sufficient cleared funds are held on client ledgers before any payment is made

* Posting payments, journals and client invoices accurately, and transferring funds between client, office and deposit accounts in line with SRA Accounts Rules and in-house policies

* Reconciling bank accounts daily and completing month-end reconciliations, including the consolidated client account reconciliation

* Allocating expenses to the correct nominal codes and cost centres

* Inputting supplier invoices to the purchase ledger, paying them when due, and resolving queries with suppliers

* Processing card payments and managing the petty cash, including weekly reconciliation

* Handling department calls and enquiries from clients, banks and auditors, and keeping filing and documentation in order for audit
