Step Into Teaching are supporting a college in Leamington with English graduates who are wanting to gain classroom experience before teacher training.

If you currently hold a degree in English, then this could be the ideal position for you. The school are looking for graduates that are enthusiastic about English Language and Literature and have a genuine desire to better the educational outcomes of the students they work with.

• Must hold a 2:2 or above Hons degree
• College Leamington, Warwickshire
• Monday to Friday - Full-Time
• £500 - £530 per week
• Ideally suited for aspiring teachers

• A graduate with a degree in English or a related subject (2:2 or higher)
• Strong communication skills,with the ability to engage and inspire young people.
• A keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education.
• Experience working with young people, either in a volunteer or professional capacity, is desirable but not essential.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward learning and teaching.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Provide targeted academic support to students undertaking GCSE English Language and English Literature resits.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions tailored to students’ individual learning needs and areas for development.
• Identify gaps in students’ English skills through diagnostic activities, assessment and regular progress monitoring.
• Support students to develop key skills in reading, comprehension, analysis, writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Develop students’ ability to analyse texts, identify language and structural techniques, and explain the effects of writers’ choices.
• Support students in developing clear, accurate and well-structured written responses to GCSE examination questions.
• Use GCSE-style questions and past examination papers to develop students’ exam technique, confidence and familiarity with assessment requirements.
