About the role
At HeliosX, we’re looking for a meticulous and driven Lab Assistant to play a critical role in our Leamington Spa Hub. This is not just a lab-based role – it’s an opportunity to become a guardian of quality, hygiene, and precision in a fast‑paced pharmaceutical setting.
This role is based onsite at our Leamington Spa Hub, the working hours are Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm.
What you'll be doing- Set up the clean room and ensure all tools and apparatus are thoroughly cleaned
- Maintain biological integrity and equipment hygiene at the beginning and end of each day
- Take responsibility for ingredient handling in the clean room
- Set up machines ready for preparation of products
- Participate in cleaning procedures
- Key member of filling and product assembly line ensuring a high quality and consistent product
- Operate the machines in line with related safety procedures and risk assessments
- Collaborate with the production, dispensary and the warehouse teams to manage the ingredients and final product
- Quality control process including collecting, logging and keeping accurate records
- Assess and report anomalies or malfunctions to the other staff
- Work in a fast, efficient and controlled manner; ensure the smooth running of the production line that may require frequent standing for long periods of time
- Packing of the product and ensure it is labelled correctly for distribution; work well as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the product is dispatched on time
- Assist in daily monitoring of room pressure, temperature, and humidity to ensure the cleanroom stays within legal parameters
- Proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste and hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH and local regulations
- Ability to read, follow written instructions and have numeracy skills
- Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems and issues
- Basic mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity are essential
- Attention to detail – verify that all materials on the line meet company standards
- Basic computer skills; basic understanding of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
- Good verbal communication with supervisors and fellow workers
- Experience in a pharmacy, laboratory or manufacturing environment would be an advantage
- Ability to wear full personal protective equipment
