Assistant Manager - Convenience Retail Salary: £30,255

Full Time, 40 hours per week (including weekends and bank holidays) Important Information Assessment Day:

The Role We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy convenience store. This is an excellent opportunity for a retail professional who enjoys leading teams, delivering great customer service and driving operational standards.

Key Responsibilities Store Operations Support the daily management of the store Oversee stock replenishment, deliveries and stock rotation Manage tills and cash handling procedures Ensure high standards of merchandising, cleanliness and product availability Assist with store opening and closing duties Maintain compliance with health, safety and food safety regulations Monitor waste, stock loss and inventory control Team Leadership Lead, motivate and develop store colleagues Support recruitment, training and onboarding activities Create staff rotas and ensure appropriate store coverage Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching Manage employee relations matters fairly and professionally Customer Service Deliver an excellent customer experience Resolve customer queries and complaints effectively Build positive relationships with customers and the local community Promote customer loyalty and repeat business Commercial Performance Support the achievement of sales and profitability targets Monitor key performance indicators, including availability, waste and shrinkage Help control store costs and maximise efficiency Produce accurate reports when required About You Previous retail supervisory or management experience is desirable Strong leadership and communication skills Organised with excellent problem-solving abilities Able to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment Customer-focused with a hands-on approach Flexible to work varying shifts, weekends and bank holidays
