As a Senior Technical Animator you will become the architectural backbone of the animation department, working closely with the creative team to solve complex problems and streamline daily workflows. You will take a proactive lead in developing new features, processes, and pipelines; write custom tools; establish studio‑wide best practices for skinning and rigging; and take full ownership of implementing animation into the game engine.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and evolve character pipelines for character‑heavy projects.
  • Optimize rigs for performance without sacrificing visual fidelity.
  • Create robust facial rigs and integrate complex dynamics such as cloth and muscles.
  • Ensure a smooth, reliable path from initial rig to final in‑game implementation.
  • Collide cross‑discipline collaboration to bridge artistic vision and technical execution.
  • Maintain and improve the animation pipeline, raising quality for future titles.

  • Deep understanding of animation principles, rigging, and animation systems.
  • Proficiency in Maya, Motion Builder, Python, MEL, and Qt for tool creation.
  • Experience in C# and Unity Editor scripting to enhance engine‑side workflows.
  • Veteran of motion capture processes and comfortable with Perforce source control.
  • Refined eye for anatomy and character topology, capable of handling hyper‑realistic, stylised, and cartoony styles.
  • Creative problem‑solving skills and a passion for integrating cutting‑edge techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self‑driven, positive attitude and alignment with Pixel Toys mission and values.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary, reviewed annually.
  • 25 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
  • Discretionary Bonus Scheme.
  • Up to 3 additional long‑service days.
  • Private medical insurance (including optical and dental).
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Death in service benefit.
  • Regular socials including summer and Christmas parties.
  • Staff training and development.
  • Quarterly wellness days (on‑site massages and more).
  • Flexi‑time working hours.
