As a Senior Technical Animator you will become the architectural backbone of the animation department, working closely with the creative team to solve complex problems and streamline daily workflows. You will take a proactive lead in developing new features, processes, and pipelines; write custom tools; establish studio‑wide best practices for skinning and rigging; and take full ownership of implementing animation into the game engine.
Responsibilities- Develop and evolve character pipelines for character‑heavy projects.
- Optimize rigs for performance without sacrificing visual fidelity.
- Create robust facial rigs and integrate complex dynamics such as cloth and muscles.
- Ensure a smooth, reliable path from initial rig to final in‑game implementation.
- Collide cross‑discipline collaboration to bridge artistic vision and technical execution.
- Maintain and improve the animation pipeline, raising quality for future titles.
- Proven ability to build and deploy sophisticated character pipelines from scratch.
- Deep understanding of animation principles, rigging, and animation systems.
- Proficiency in Maya, Motion Builder, Python, MEL, and Qt for tool creation.
- Experience in C# and Unity Editor scripting to enhance engine‑side workflows.
- Veteran of motion capture processes and comfortable with Perforce source control.
- Refined eye for anatomy and character topology, capable of handling hyper‑realistic, stylised, and cartoony styles.
- Creative problem‑solving skills and a passion for integrating cutting‑edge techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
