We are seeking a technically-minded Field Service Engineer based in the Michigan/Detroit area to support our growing North American install base. This is a hands‑on role perfect for those who enjoy solving complex electromechanical puzzles, traveling to diverse customer sites, and working with world‑class engineering standards.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be the face of the company, ensuring our customers’ testing systems—ranging from universal testing machines to torsion systems and drop‑weight towers—are performing at peak precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Repair: Install, service, and repair complex electromechanical, electronic, and hydraulic testing systems.
Calibration: Perform high-level calibration work in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and A2LA standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues down to the component level using schematics, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
Customer Training: Educate users on equipment operation, testing software, and basic maintenance.
Documentation: Prepare detailed service and calibration reports to ensure customer quality compliance.
Candidate RequirementsWe are looking for a "problem‑solver" who is comfortable working independently in the field.
Veterans with experience in electronics or electromechanical systems (3-phase power) are highly encouraged to apply - even if currently transitioning to the private sector.
Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to troubleshoot electromechanical and electronic systems. You must be able to read schematics and use diagnostic tools (multimeter/oscilloscope).
Electrical Knowledge: Practical experience working with 3-phase power

Travel Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel extensively (
up to 80%), primarily overnight. Travel is scheduled within the standard work week; weekend travel is very rare.
Professionalism: Excellent communication skills with a customer‑centric mindset. You will be working directly with engineers and lab managers.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline is preferred, but equivalent field experience or military technical training is highly valued.
