About the UnitOur team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. We collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients, overseeing medication storage, distribution, and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy, potential interactions, prepare and dispense accurately, provide drug information, monitor drug levels, and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events, we aim to improve patient outcomes and contribute to overall well‑being.

Opened on January 24, 1955, Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is a 1,101‑bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. With 43 residency and fellowship programs and 454 residents and fellows, Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, housing more than 1,400 doctors on faculty.
Scope of Work- Under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist, perform functions related to preparation, storage, distribution, and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Routine rotation through IV admixture, unit dose service, and possibly OR pharmacy services and outpatient pharmacy services.
- Data entry and other record‑keeping functions as necessary to department operations.
- Fill medication orders including oral, injectable, topical, and intravenous admixtures, assist in bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products, prepare and distribute floor stock items, inventory and restock shelves, enter charges and credits, document all medications and returned items, and distribute prepared medications to patient care areas or other departments.
- Answer telephone inquiries and assist at the pharmacy window.
- Maintain a safe, orderly work area and follow appropriate clean‑room (797) guidelines for intravenous admixture preparation.
- Required:
Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high‑school diploma program or GED. - Experience with sterile compounding, ≥6 months technician experience, or graduation from an ASHP‑accredited technician training program (preferred).
