Weld Technician / Weld Technician Apprentice

This position is responsible for technical, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical support, troubleshooting and repair of all plant welding and assembly equipment.

• Installing, repairing, servicing machinery and equipment support systems
• Identifying and troubleshooting production problems
• Maintaining production lines and performing predictive and preventive maintenance
• Supporting daily production by addressing downtime expediently, resetting faults, replacing sensors, cords, caps, shunts, etc. in a timely manner
• Assuring all automatic nut/stud feeders are stocked, verifying correct part # and free of debris before filling machine
• Assuring all sealers/adhesives are working properly, purged as required and replaced when needed
• Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices along with all safety policies and procedures
• Complying with all quality system procedures, assuring Red Rabbits are run and recorded each shift, and properly communicating any abnormal event to appropriate personnel
• Understanding, recording, and communicating system problems and solutions
• Demonstrating good attendance with ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays
• Carrying out any other duties assigned by managers, supervisors or leaders to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of products, processes and work

• Must be able to work in an environment with welding fumes from robots
• Industrial equipment electrical troubleshooting and installation
• Sound understanding of welding fundamentals and theory
• Robot programming and troubleshooting of FANUC, ABB, MOTOMAN, NACHI, KUKA equipment
• Demonstrate good problem‑solving skills
• Understand and troubleshoot basic electrical components and schematics
• Troubleshoot, repair and install hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems
• Repair and program resistance and MIG welding equipment
• Perform basic machining
• Complete preventive maintenance checks and related documentation accurately
• Complete required logs and repair documentation accurately and legibly
• Knowledge of safety lockout
• Work independently
• Execute all job responsibilities in accordance with quality system requirements
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing welding maintenance
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to work mandatory OT as required 6-7 days per week
