Assistant Nurse Manager – Orthopedic Surgery OR

About the Unit: Ortho OR, Royal Oak – 16 operating rooms dedicated to orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery.
Scope of Work: The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first‑line manager responsible for the administration of orthopedic surgery services. Duties include supervising patients, personnel, and the environment; ensuring quality assurance, policy and procedure updates, and infection control surveillance; assisting with staff orientation, in‑service education, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications- Effective June 1, 2025, Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) – required.
- Two years of clinical experience in Orthopedic OR – required.
- Participation in leadership activities (unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, precepting, charge nurse role) – preferred.
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) – required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required.
