English Teacher

A high-achieving Grammar school in Tunbridge Wells is seeking a dedicated and confident English Teacher to join their department on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible until Easter, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated students within a structured and academically focused environment where high standards are both expected and supported. The school is known for its strong outcomes, positive behaviour and collaborative staff culture.

• Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across KS3–KS4 (KS5 experience advantageous)
• Plan, mark and assess in line with departmental expectations
• Stretch and challenge high-attaining students
• Contribute to departmental planning and exam preparation
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or similar recognised in the UK
• Recent experience teaching English in a secondary setting
• Ability to commit to full planning and marking responsibilities
• Experience teaching Media Studies preferred but not essential
• Strong classroom presence suited to a Grammar school setting
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
