Teaching Assistant

A highly regarded secondary school in Tunbridge Wells is looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across a range of subjects.

This position is ideal for graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling or youth work. Applications are particularly welcomed from graduates in English, Mathematics, Science, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology and other related disciplines.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting students with additional learning needs in lessons
• Delivering targeted interventions and small group sessions
• Promoting engagement, confidence and independence
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the SEN department
• Helping students overcome barriers to learning

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds a degree in a core subject or social science (preferred)
• Has a passion for education and supporting SEN learners
• Is adaptable, empathetic and eager to learn
• Can build positive relationships with students and staff
• Holds an Enhanced DBS or is willing to obtain one
