As a senior Legal Cashiering professional, you may be interested in a Head Cashier position that offers hybrid working and the chance to make an impact within an ambitious firm that values flexibility and a people‑first culture.

Our client, an award‑winning, top‑100 law firm, has an exciting Head Cashier opportunity in their finance team. You will lead and manage the Legal Cashiering team, ensuring all client and office account transactions are processed accurately in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs) and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the cashiering team, handling client and office account payments, receipts, transfers, financial postings, bank reconciliations, and client interest calculations.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed correctly.
  • Perform monthly client money reconciliation.
  • Monitor the workload of your team.
  • Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs), AML regulations, and Source of Funds checks.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Lead, manage, and develop your team.
  • Act as the main point of contact for fee earners, internal and external stakeholders, and the external banking team.
  • Review and improve cashiering processes.
  • Report on and monitor key cashiering metrics.
Key Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have directly held a Head Cashier, Head Legal Cashier, Legal Cashiering Manager, Legal Cashier Manager, or Senior Legal Cashier position within the legal sector and possess strong technical knowledge of SARs and people / team management experience. Experience with legal finance systems, such as banking platforms and PMS, is important.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
