Overview
TPF Recruitment, on behalf of a leading firm of chartered accountants in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is seeking a Personal Tax Manager to join their successful tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells, offering autonomy, a collaborative team environment, and excellent career progression. There is a bias toward personal tax with opportunities to work on corporate tax matters depending on experience and aspirations. Both full‑time and part‑time applicants will be considered.
- Manage a portfolio of personal clients with complex tax affairs, including UK individuals, high-net-worth individuals, and some trusts.
- Lead tax planning projects, covering non-domicile issues, onshore and offshore trusts, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax matters.
- Review and complete complex tax returns.
- Oversee the compliance function within the team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Handle HMRC enquiries and correspondence on both compliance and advisory matters.
- Manage and mentor junior staff, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Assist Directors with the growth and strategic development of the tax department.
- Ideally CTA and/or ATT/ACA/ACCA qualified. A career in personal tax within an accountancy practice or specialist tax firm is expected.
- Experience in a mix of Top Tier, Top Ten, large regional independent firms, or specialist tax firms, with a focus on personal tax and strong compliance and tax planning skills.
This role offers a competitive regional salary in the range of £55,000–£70,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:
