Positive Behaviour Senior Support Worker

Location: BLUEJAY, Cornford Lane, Pembury, Kent

Hours of Work: Full‑Time (40 hours per week)

Shift Work: Early and late shifts scheduled across a 7‑day week, with 3 non‑consecutive days off and alternative weekends.

Requirements: Must be a driver and hold a UK driving licence.

Mission: Aspens Charities provides high‑quality care and support for individuals on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities across the South‑East of England.

At Aspens, we support individuals with autistic spectrum conditions, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities. We offer residential care, supported living, day activities, and community outreach. Bluejay is a newly refurbished PBS service with an open‑plan kitchen, living and dining area, two en‑suite bedrooms, an office, staff toilet, and air‑conditioning. We are looking for a Senior Positive Behaviour Support Worker to support the resident.

• Help the resident stay in contact with family and arrange visits.
• Provide a wide range of sensory activities.
• Advocate for the resident, helping access new activities.
• Support effectively during times of distress.
• Offer full attention to the resident.
• Maintain consistency and boundaries.
• Use humor and a positive attitude.
• Motivate and de‑escalate moments of stress.
• Be fit and active; participate in community activities such as badminton, swimming, football and gym.
• Communicate clearly, including Makaton signing and Picture Exchange Communication systems (training provided).
• Complete comprehensive daily notes and reports.
• Work proactively to support independence and quality of life.
• Maintain a low‑arousal approach, minimising overwhelming sensory input.
• Sourcing new activities and maintaining a budget.
• Organise workload, prioritise tasks, and work within a diverse team.
• Supervise and mentor PBS support staff.
