Fabric Shift Engineer – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

Shift pattern: 4 Nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 4 off, 4 days, 6 off (7:00 am – 7:00 pm day and 7:00 pm – 7:00 am night)

• Provide an outstanding reactive and planned fabric maintenance service across the hospital site, ensuring the building is kept in a safe and well‑maintained state.
• Deliver a flexible, productive and efficient response to a wide range of property and improvement work within specified timescales and agreed standards.
• Ensure all periodic preventative maintenance (PPM) work is completed thoroughly and on time.

• Technically qualified in a trade discipline such as carpentry, painting & decoration, or light construction.
• Experienced in performing operational and maintenance duties in large building complexes, with proven experience in planned PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Possesses a City & Guilds Certificate and/or Craft Apprenticeship and training in condition‑based maintenance.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety on occupied premises and basic knowledge of building regulations and fire door maintenance (preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to rectify a variety of faults, and a bias towards joinery work.

• Joinery‐biased repairs including locks and ironmongery.
• Fire door repairs and maintenance.
• Experience in decorating.
• Basic PPM task knowledge.
• Ability to support the wider Maintenance Team and cover for Building Fabric tradespersons when required.
• Willingness to undertake any additional duties reasonably requested by Senior Management.
