TRS are seeking a reliable and proactive Construction Operative – Site Logistics & Traffic Coordination to support a live 3CR construction project in Royston. This is a key site‑based role responsible for managing the safe and efficient flow of traffic, materials, and personnel at the site entrance and surrounding areas. While not a traditional engineering role, the position plays a critical function in maintaining operational continuity, site safety, and logistical efficiency.
SiteLogistics Coordination
- Support day‑to‑day site logistics operations
- Ensure smooth movement of vehicles, plant, and personnel
- Act as a key point of contact at the site entrance
- Control and direct incoming and outgoing site traffic
- Coordinate delivery schedules and vehicle access
- Assist with implementation of traffic management plans
- Oversee on‑site and adjacent parking arrangements
- Ensure compliance with site parking rules and capacity limits
- Prevent congestion and maintain safe access routes
- Receive and manage deliveries at the gate
- Verify delivery documentation and direct vehicles appropriately
- Liaise with site teams to ensure efficient offloading
- Assist with coordination of waste collection and disposal
- Monitor waste movements and ensure compliance with site processes
- Maintain organised and accessible waste handling areas
- Previous experience working on a construction site in a similar role (e.g. traffic marshal, gate operative, logistics operative, site security)
- Traffic Management / Traffic Marshal (Banksman) certification
- Strong awareness of health & safety practices
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with drivers, contractors, and site teams
- Proactive and organised, with good situational awareness
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, live construction environment
- Experience in site logistics or construction coordination roles
- Background in site‑based security with logistics exposure
