Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist education setting in Meldreth.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced teaching staff, helping pupils with a range of additional needs to achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you’ll help create positive learning experiences that enable every pupil to thrive.

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive social skills.
• Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies and individual care plans.
• Providing support during lessons, break times and educational activities.
• Preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitoring and recording pupils’ progress and achievements.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and external professionals to provide the best possible support for each pupil.

• Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN.

• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Flexible, proactive and willing to learn.
• A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.

• Experience working with children in an educational, care or other relevant setting.
• Understanding of SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent.
• The right to work in the UK.

• Teaching Assistant qualification.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience working within a specialist SEN setting.
