Job description
As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for operating a dustcart vehicle on scheduled waste collection routes, working alongside a team of loaders to complete residential and commercial collections efficiently.
This is a hands‑on Class 2 driving role requiring good awareness of health & safety, route management, and teamwork.
Key responsibilities include:- Driving a Class 2 dustcart vehicle on assigned routes
- Supervising and working with a team of refuse loaders
- Completing household and commercial waste collections
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Ensuring compliance with waste management and safety regulations
- Assisting with loading duties when required
- Completing all relevant paperwork and route documentation
- £17.35 per hour (accrue holiday)
- £19.44 inclusive of holiday pay.

- Full-time, ongoing work

- Monday to Friday
- Early starts (typically 05:00 – 06:00)
- Day shifts (8–10 hours)
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category
C) - CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous dustcart / refuse experience preferred
- Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
- Good knowledge of UK driving regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and team-focused
