Assistant Management Accountant Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Location:
Milton Keynes | Hybrid We’re working with an established and growing multi-site organisation to recruit a Assistant Management Accountant into its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their management accounting experience, take ownership of key areas of the finance function and gain valuable exposure to the wider business. The role offers a genuine opportunity to develop towards a qualified accountant, with professional qualification support available.
You’ll be reporting into the wider finance team, you’ll take ownership of the management accounts for a business entity while working closely with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing monthly Management Accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet. Providing reporting, analysis and insight into gross margin and overhead variances against budget and forecast. Working closely with commercial and operational teams to support decision-making and business performance. Taking ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations, including invoice discounting. Maintaining and improving financial systems, processes and controls. Supporting wider divisional and group analysis and ad hoc finance projects.
Preparing working papers for annual statutory accounts and supporting audit activity. Assisting with VAT calculations, reconciliations, reporting and HMRC submissions.
Key requirements:
Experience with in a finance/accounting environment, with exposure to management accounts. A desire to work towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA. Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders outside of finance. Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
