We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage the Stepnell Supply Chain (SSC). Acting as the principal point of contact, this role is central to ensuring the SSC delivers value, quality, and continuous improvement across the business.
You will work closely with your Stepnell colleagues to provide analysis, insight, and recommendations to enhance supply chain performance.
Reporting to our Commercial Director,Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and continually develop the Stepnell Supply Chain (SSC).
- Act as the principal point of contact for all SSC matters.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and supply chain partners.
- Promote the value and benefits of the SSC across the business and externally.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and implement positive change.
- Work with the Supply Chain Administrator to maintain and manage the SSC database (Local Supply Chain – LSC).
- Identify and assess potential companies that meet SSC entry requirements.
- Manage the onboarding of SSC Members, Preferred, and Strategic partners.
- Maintain and update SSC documentation and processes.
- Meet the Buyer events
- Applications and onboarding of new supply chain partners
- Negotiation and agreement of Preferred and Strategic Charters
- Review and performance meetings
- Mutual performance scoring and feedback
- Management of complaints, commendations, and awards
- Act as the main point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants within or aspiring to join the SSC.
- Act as the key contact for SSC systems, including LSC, Construction line, Compliance Chain, and other relevant platforms.
- Engage with software super users and support renewals or transitions to new systems.
- Review and monitor SSC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Produce quarterly performance reports for the Commercial Director, SLT, and, where appropriate, the Board.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and data management.
- Support colleagues across the business in understanding and operating the SSC.
- Initiate and lead training related to SSC systems, processes, and best practice.
- Support internal forums in the effective use of the SSC.
- Support the Pre-Construction Team to improve tender quality through effective use of the SSC.
- Identify and address gaps in geographical or trade coverage within the supply chain.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of purchase orders, subcontracts, and consultant appointments.
- Understand the main contract conditions used by the business.
- Address supply chain coverage gaps identified by project and business unit teams.
- A background in supply chain management
- Strong team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Highly organised with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable operating at all levels of the organisation, including Directors and the SLT.
