- This 6-12 month contract role with a local authority focuses on providing specialist expertise and leadership to support the continuous improvement and operational resilience of Waste Services. The postholder will collaborate with the existing management team to review operational practices, drive service improvements, strengthen governance arrangements, and embed sustainable ways of working. This position is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Waste Services, ensuring they meet legislative and organizational standards.
- Support the delivery of the Waste Services Transformation Programme.
- Review existing operational practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement service improvements that enhance efficiency, performance, governance, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and deliver Service Improvement Action Plans.
- Support the implementation of legislative, organizational, and service changes.
- Provide temporary operational management support during periods of sickness absence, annual leave, or exceptional operational pressure.
- Ensure continuity of service delivery and operational resilience.
- Assist in the mobilization of new services and operational projects.
- Support managers in resolving operational challenges and service issues.
- Significant experience working within Waste Services or a similar frontline operational environment.
- Proven track record of delivering operational improvement and organizational change programmes.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to operational management, service improvement, or waste management.
- Full UK Driving Licence (if required for operational duties).
