Estimator – (Refurbishment & Build)

Estimator – a leading construction firm operating in the refurbishment and build sector is searching for an Estimator to join their successful pre‑construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator to join a privately owned main contractor with a strong reputation for delivery across healthcare, education and industrial sectors.

Our client is a market leading contractor with the healthcare sector and provides a secure, long‑term pipeline of work and genuine progression opportunities for ambitious individuals.

The role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful schemes which make a real difference to the local community - and include refurbishments, alterations, extensions and small new build projects ranging £100K - £5M.

This role suits someone who is professional, approachable and client focused – someone who takes pride in producing accurate, competitive tenders and enjoys being part of a collaborative environment.

• Guideline salary of £50,000 - £60,000 (Negotiable)
• Company Car Allowance of £5,000

• Review tender documentation to identify trade packages and material requirements.
• Prepare and issue subcontract enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assess and align returned tenders, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Compile tender qualifications and exclusions.
• Produce tender cost documents using in house formats.
• Identify pricing gaps and complete labour/plant/material pricing from first principles.
• Develop tender stage programmes.
• Complete take offs for general works (finishes, partitions, ceilings etc).
• Price project preliminaries based on programme duration and site requirements.

• 3-5 years' estimating experience with a building contractor or refurbishment specialist Main Contractor.
• Desire to develop knowledge of construction processes and sector nuances.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong time management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
