- Estimate and control project costs
- Ensure structures meet legal and quality standards
- Prepare internal commercial reporting and other required reports
- Prepare valuations/applications for payment with supporting contract documentation
- Prepare cost reports for clients with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Administer subcontractor and supplier accounts, from detailed requisitions through subcontract payments to final accounts
- Undertake contract administration, including change management, and maintain associated registers
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Utilise the costing system
- Visit various project sites within the North of England
- Experience in construction; civils, shafts and tunnelling desirable but not necessary
- Experience with IChemE desirable but not necessary
- Experience with NEC contracts essential
- Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good communication skills, including presentations
- Ability to negotiate and persuade others
- At least 5 years of Quantity Surveyor experience
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
Demonstrates expertise in contract administration, cost estimation, and project financial management, with a strong focus on NEC contracts and commercial risk assessment. Proficient in preparing detailed reports and managing subcontractor accounts while ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.
