Caldicott is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys. We are a flourishing school with around 250 boys from 7 to 13 years old, with a five-day week in Year 3 and Year 4 and Saturday School from Year 5, with Flexi Boarding (1st to 4th Form/Years 3 to
6), Weekly, Full Boarding or Day Plus options (5th and 6th Form / Years 7 and
8). We deliver a first-class education, sporting provision and a rich variety of music, drama, arts and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment. The school is only twenty miles from central London in a beautiful location.
Caldicott has a strong and proud rugby tradition. We are looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Rugby who will build on our sporting successes and continue to develop rugby at all levels throughout the school. The ability to inspire, nurture and develop confidence in children is essential for this role.
Qualifications- excellent rugby knowledge, ideally RFU Level 3 qualified;
- a strong degree and exemplary coaching qualifications and experience, working with school age rugby players and a high understanding of the 7 to 13 age range;
- the ability to identify and develop aspirational rugby players.;
- a proven track record of success that would add to Caldicott’s sporting culture and
- excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as part of a team both on and off the playing field.
As Head of Rugby you will lead, manage and deliver our rugby programme, playing the key role in the development of the sport, as well a guiding and supporting teams and coaching staff. You will ensure that pupils of all abilities are able to reach their potential and flourish in the sport through the planning and delivery of high quality technical, tactical, physical and mental skills training that aligns with a common coaching and playing philosophy.
For our more aspirational players you will develop, integrate and facilitate a Player Development Pathway that offers appropriate playing opportunities at national prep school level, whilst also developing partnerships with senior schools, academies and the local community. You will also organise and oversee rugby festivals and tournaments, including the Caldicott 7s and National 10s.
