About the role:

Justteachers is currently recruiting a compassionate and skilled English Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision in Rugby. This long-term role begins in June 2026 and will continue into the next academic year, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a supportive, structured environment.

This unique setting caters to students aged 11–18 who require additional behavioural and emotional support. The school delivers a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to meet individual needs, with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, engagement, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons that support progress and promote confidence in learners with additional needs.
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with students, using effective behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and learning readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals to ensure consistent support and intervention.
  • Contribute to a nurturing and structured classroom environment that promotes emotional safety and encourages positive outcomes.
  • Uphold high expectations for both learning and conduct while adapting to individual learning styles and social needs.
Pre-requisites:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching students with SEMH needs, either in a special school, PRU, or alternative provision is highly desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach to classroom practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to teamwork and shared goals.
  • Two recent education-based references and a willingness to complete safeguarding checks.
